Sean left right after that, leaving Charles standing puzzled and clueless.
After calming down, Kirk composed himself and dialed Caroline’s number.

She answered the call almost immediately. “Kirk, why didn’t you answer my calls?”
She had called him several times after she had woken up and found that he wasn’t at home with her.
He hadn’t answered any of her calls, so she had sent him a text as well.

“I’m going to hang up. Gwen has something to tell me,” she told Kirk.
