Jane narrowed her eyes. “I wish she were dead, but she managed to escape even after I sent my

men after her twice.”

She seethed with rage whenever she was reminded of this.

“There’s something you should know,” Daphne told her.

“What is it?”

“She didn’t escape last time. It’s because the men you sent were-”

“You-”

“Calm down,” Daphne said.

“If the men you sent worked for the Collins family, they wouldn’t have made such a blunder.

Besides, they always do a good job at tidying up the mess afterward.”

Jane swayed when she heard this. “Are you suggesting that I get help from the Collinses?”

“Yes. I’m sure you want to take revenge for your daughter.”

“Naturally,” said Jane as she sat on the couch.

Her face was full of anguish when she spoke. “But Howard made a deal with your husband. No one

can harm Caroline once the Collinses and the Morrisons start working together.”

Daphne felt as though Jane had just dropped a bomb on her.

So this was why Kirk had agreed to cooperate with the Collinses.

Her hands clenched into fists beside her as jealousy seeped into her heart. Kirk truly loved

Caroline, after all!

Daphne forced a smile and said, “We won’t leave any traces behind as long as we give her a quick and

clean death. Also, you still have me. I can back you up if anything goes wrong.”

“Really?” Jane beamed.

She had thought of doing this long ago but had put the thought aside because she hadn’t been

sure if Daphne would agree with it.

Now that Daphne said she would have their backs, Jane couldn’t wait to get rid of Caroline

“Certainly

Seeing that Jane was on the verge of agreeing, Daphne immediately reassured her. “Besides, my

plan is much more detailed this time. I’m sure we can succeed.”

“Alright then! Tell me about it!” Jane urged.

Back at Caroline’s home, she saw Sean and Gwen off before turning to head back in. Suddenly, she

found herself enveloped in Kirk’s arms.

“Let go of me.” Caroline hit his chest with her fists, embarrassed.

“I miss you so much, darling,” said Kirk as he started kissing the nape of her neck.

His kisses were like raindrops falling on the dry land that was her heart. She relished them as she

relaxed and allowed herself to sink deeper into his embrace.

She resisted at first, but the room somehow felt warmer, and her legs became increasingly weak as

though she were floating. Her mind was in a trance.

It was only when Kirk placed her on the bed that she became aware of the weight that was pressing on

top of her body.

She pushed her hands against his sturdy chest, murmuring, “Be gentler …”

Her cheeks were already red from the heat, and her eyes were glazed.

“Okay,” said Kirk, and he swallowed, trying his best to restrain himself.

However, when his eyes fell on Caroline’s collarbone, her flawless skin, and her perfect figure, he

forgot all about what he had promised her.

It was as though he were a beast that hadn’t had any meat in a long time. He couldn’t hold back at all

as he ground his hips against Caroline’s without mercy, leaving her no strength to resist him.

It was 5:00 am. A sliver of light shone through the windows.

In a daze, Caroline turned to look at Kirk, who still wasn’t done with it.

Lazily, she mumbled, “Aren’t you tired?” Her voice was rough when she spoke.

Kirk sat up and wrapped his arms around her. “Are you tired?” he asked, to which she glared at

“Do you know what time it is already?”

Kirk laughed and pecked her on the lips. “I’ve been holding back for far too long.”

Caroline turned to lie down on top of him. “You could solve this by finding someone else to do it

with you.”

Kirk immediately flipped them over so that she was beneath him. “So you’ve thought of doing this novelbin

with someone else?”
