Caroline looked up at him and said, “Nope. Are we going home now?”

Caroline asked, “What about Dad?”

Kirk paused momentarily before replying, “He’s still at the Mendeley Residence.”

Caressing Caroline’s slender waist, Kirk replied, “He just wants some grandchildren, so he wouldn’t wa

nt to come home.”

As he spoke, he hugged Caroline. “Let’s have a baby”

He’d initially thought that he could wait, but he couldn’t anymore. He wanted a child with Caroline, one t

hat belonged to them alone. It was the only way to leave his mark on her.

Seeing the tenderness swirling in Kirk’s gaze, Caroline was tempted, but she remained rational. She sa
