Chapter 9

Lilac was too shock from what she had done to Hunter to even move away from there. She bit herl*ps, staring at how fast his wounds healed, but she would be in a great trouble, if he demanded aconsequence for her action earlier. After all, there was so much blood on his shirt and on theground for him to claim that he was being attacked by her

After all, his blood also was still on the tip of her nails. It was easy enough to tell, she was the one,who had attacked him and with that, the main purpose of this party for the peace treaty that theyfinally reached would crumble into nothing, as they would be in war with each other again, broughtback so many casualties from both parties.

The thought dreaded Lilac so much, she felt like she was having a hard time to breath.

On the other hand, the sight of Lilac was hyperventilating made Hunter frowned. “Are you, okay?”He approached Lilac, who started to tear up. It should be him, who was being comforted, not theother way around, since it was him, who was being attacked, but why she was the one, who wascrying? “Hey, what happened?”

Lilac felt her knees became so weak, her mind was a wreck of emotions, since she couldn’t containher grievances anymore.

“What is wrong with you? It’s me, who was being hurt, okay.” Hunter squatted down in front of Leahand the sight of her crying like this confused him, since he had never coaxed a crying girl before.“What are you crying for?

However, what Lilac felt right now was a mix of emotions of fear and desperation. Her emotion andfeeling had been on tatter ever since she came out of her bedroom, but right now, she wascompletely unable to control herself.

Everything came crushing down at her at the same time. She felt all of her resentment and angercame to her without mercy, her heart bled again. She had been trying to keep her emotions at baybecause Aria and luna Jasmine used to come often to check on her, thus she felt even worst whenshe saw their sad expression. They shouldn’t be troubled with her emotion.

“Gosh! I don’t know what to do with you.” Hunter ran his fingers through his hairs in frustration andthen he only remembered one gesture to calm someone down when they were crying. Someonedid this to him once in the past and it felt good.

Therefore, with limited knowledge about how to calm Lilac down, he did it, though it was a little bitembarrassing to say the least, but in the end, he was the one, who brought this to himself.

He pulled her closer into a warm embarrassed, which stunned Lilac, because she had never beenhugged by any men, aside from Aiden. Lilac could feel his big and hot palm on her back, caressingher.

This embrace was so different from the one she felt from Aiden, it was very comforting and evenmore because their bodies were built very differently.

While Aiden had a rather lean b*dy, Hunter’s big b*dy felt like he was going to engulf her and thisgave a sense of comfort and protection at the same time, something that Lilac shouldn’t feel fromanother man, but her own mate, but then, the thought of Aiden gave the same comfort to anotherwoman and even had done the deed with her, made her less guilty.

There there..” Hunter patted her back and when he heard her cries ceased down, he continued,

assuming this method was working instead of thinking that Lilac was currently too stunned to cry.

The night was still lively, but in this dark corner of the alley, they felt the world had become veryquiet and the only thing they could hear was their own heartbeat. They were so close and Hunterdidn’t let her go. even when Lilac had completely stopped crying,

“You can let me go.” Lilac finally said in her hoarse voice, as she tried to free himself from him.

Now, her beautiful dress had ruined because she was sitting on this d*rty ground, but she couldn’tcare less

about it..

“Where are you going?” Hunter asked in his deep voice when he saw Lilac stood up and was aboutto leave, he pushed himself of the ground and managed to catch up with her before she could goout of this dark alley.

If there was someone caught them together from there, they must assume the worst. While Hunterdidn’t care about what people would think of him, Lilac was not the same.

“Don’t follow me,” Lilac said in small voice, she tried to hasten her steps, but how could she beathim into it when he only needed to make a long stride and he was already next to her.

“If I can’t follow you, then it will be you, who need to come with me.” Once again, Hunter grabbedher hand and took her out of the alley into the lively street, where people enjoyed the festivities.

“Where are you going?” Lilac looked panic, as she saw a few people caught a sight of both of them. Not to mention Hunter’s presence demanded attention from the people around him, thus needlessto say, this was not the situation Lilac wished to be,

“It depends.” Hunter glanced at Lilac over his shoulder, there was this cunning smile on the cornerof his l*ps when he spoke again. “We can go to the party, or do you want to go to the council for the

damage you have done to me,” he said in languid tone “Choose wisely, Lilac. I know you are asmart woman.” novelbin

“Are you threatening me?” Lilac frowned so hard.

“Yes.” Hunter was not even ashamed to admit that.
