“You sound jealous, Lilac.” Hunter gave her a sweet smile, as if he was happy with the reaction that hegot from her.
“Don’t be ridiculous.” Lilac glared at him and then groaned when she sat down, the pain on her backwas annoying now.
“Okay…” Hunter drawled the answer, which Lilac tried to ignore. He clearly was not convinced with heranswer, but then.. whatever. “Eat slowly.”
Lilac smelled the soup and then drank it slowly after she blew it to cool it off. It was very tasty. Maybethe tastiest food that she had ever eaten. Luna Jasmine always gave her a strict diet and she was notallowed to eat anything that was very savory.
“I can see how good the food is to make you smile like that.” Hunter leaned his back against one of thepoles of the bed, as he crossed his arms. After the gloomy looked on his face had finally disappeared,you could see his tired eyes.
The alpha had not yet slept a blink, since last night, because he took care of Lilac, making sure shewouldn’t turn her b*dy and lay down on her back, because it would aggravate her wound and disrupther healing process.
“Yeah, the food is good, at least.” Lilac had to admit it.
“Thank you.”
Lilac raised her head and saw that stupid grin on Hunter’s l*ps. “You don’t need to take the credit forthat.”novelbin
“If it is not me, who will take the credit then?” Hunter watched how Lilac’s mind started to think harderand the realization hit her, thus before she could say it, he took the pleasure to admit it first. “I am theone, who cooked that food. I am great, right?”
“You praised yourself too much. I thought an alpha should be a humble person.”
“Who told you that shit? Of course, we need to be humble, to keep our head from being too large forour shoulders, but the other people should know the strength we have. It’s important to keep them incheck, so they wouldn’t stomp on our head.
Lilac frowned, but she said nothing about it. In a way, she agreed with that statement, which was weirdfor her to agree with anything with him after such revelation.

“Who is that woman?” Lilac finally brought up the topic again, because her curiosity side was killing her.She wanted to know how far the relationship between the two of them, until she had the intention to killher.
“Grace. I told you she was my childhood friend. We slept together two years ago, I was drunk and shewas near me, so it happened and the second time because she kept pestering me and it happenedagain, but after that, I don’t like how she thought we were exclusive, so I made sure to let her know Ihave no intention to make her my woman.”
“Don’t tell me because you were looking for me.”
“Bingo.”
“Very touchy.” Lilac was being sarcastic when she said that, but Hunter only smiled.
“I know. I was rather dumb and stupid. I want to say proudly that I saved myself for you, butunfortunately that was not what happened, but at the same time, I couldn’t lie to you. I don’t want to lieto you.”
Lilac sighed deeply. “And then, why she is still thinking that you are into her?”
“She was the last woman I am with.”
“The twenty nine?”
Hunter laughed when Lilac said that in that way, but he nodded. “Yes, the twenty nine.” He stretchedout his hand and tucked strands of her hair behind her ear, the fact that Lilac didn’t swat his hand awaywas a great sign. “After that, with everything that had been going on, I have never been with anyone. Ithas been two years, since the last time I was being reckless and now I found you, I don’t want anyoneelse.”
Lilac didn’t know what to think or feel. Called her naïve, but her heart was softened when she heardthat confession. She must have ridiculed herself to think Hunter was genuine, but that was what shesaw when he made that statement.

“Shouldn’t we even the score?” Lilac didn’t know where she got this idea, but it just dew in her mindand it sl*pped on her l*ps. “Shouldn’t I be with another twenty nine men first before I am with you?”
Hunter let out a low growl, it sounded very dangerous and filled with rage. “I will be a hypocrite if I don’tagree with that, but I don’t mind it at all. You can call me that if you want, but if you touched anotherman, he will be unfortunate enough to
not be able to see tomorrow.”
“Hunter!” Lilac felt chill down her spine.
“I know you will not do that, Lilac. That’s not how you are raised. That’s not the things that
you believed.” Hunter’s voice softened when he spoke again. “You will not bring yourself to do that,Lilac. I bet my life on that.”
“If you believed I will not do that, why were you very angry?” Lilac mumbled, she shoved the meat intoher mouth.
“Because the thought of you really doing that makes me go insane.”
“You are hypocrite.”
“I am.”
Lilac took a deep breath, she didn’t want to have this topic anymore. “What happened to Grace?”
“I put her in the dungeon and she will not come out until a few decades.”
“What?” Lilac was surprised. “That punishment is a little bit… to harsh, don’t you think?”
“If we have already a ceremony and you become the luna of the pack, what she had done willguarantee her a death sentence on the spot, Lilac.”
