Chapter 1951

Dustin was awakened by footsteps outside the tent at the break of dawn. He quickly turned around to get up and was watchful.

Soon, he heard Osley speaking. “Ms. Linsor, something bad happened!” Instead of barging into the tent, Osley stood outside toreport the incident to Grace.

“W-What?” Grace slowly opened her eyes when she heard the commotion. She slipped out of the sleeping bag and slipped intoher jacket.

She then asked, “What happened, Mr. Will?”

“When | was doing my routine check, | saw a lot of desert rats around our camp. | followed their trail and realized that the ratshad destroyed our supplies!” Osley replied anxiously.

“What?” Grace’s expression instantly became serious when she heard that.

She quickly walked out of her tent and questioned in a serious tone, “Didn’t | arrange for someone to stand guard through thenight? How did the desert rats get to our supplies?”

“| have no idea as well. It was already too late when | discovered the problem. “Osley appeared disheartened.“Let's go have a look!” Grace didn’t say much as she immediately walked toward where the supplies were stored.

To play it safe this time, she had prepared all the supplies needed for survival and hired a caravan of camels to transport thesupplies.

Before the night set in, she even ensured that people were standing guard. She had no idea that she would wake up to aproblem with the supplies.novelbin

When Grace and a few others got to the supply storage tent, she saw thousands of desert rats running around. Food, water, andother resources were all over the ground.

A few from the security team were busy chasing away the desert rats. Nevertheless, these rats were still going after the foodsupplies without fear.

Grace frowned slightly when she saw the situation. Desert rats were normally timid and careful. It was very rare to see theminvading the human food supplies.

The most important factor was, in addition to the sheer number of desert rats, their frenzied and continuous invasion despiteattempts to chase them away.

The desert rats had destroyed more than half of the supplies she brought for the journey. If Osley hadn't discovered this problem, the desert rats would have emptied their supplies by daybreak.

“These darn animals! How dare they invade our supplies! Kill all of them!” Osley yelled angrily. When they heard the order, thesecurity team quickly took out their weapons and started killing the desert rats.

Amidst the sounds of guns firing and knives hacking, one after another, the desert rats fell into the pool of blood.

The desert rats that overran the food supplies were scared and started breaking up and running away. They were all gone inashort while.

All that remained were the carcasses of hundreds of desert rats. This loss was almost nothing for the desert rat colony.

The gunshots woke everyone in the camp, and they were disgusted to see the aftermath on the ground.

They had been through many troubles, such as sandstorms, quicksand, and venomous snakes and scorpions, since thebeginning of their journey.

Nevertheless, they had always resolved the issues without suffering any loss.

However, a desert rat invasion had robbed them of more than half of their food supplies.
