Chapter 1882

The red flare left a long, bright trail as it shot skyward. However, the translucent ceiling of the Octennial Array lit up for a while, and the red flare stopped halfway.

The red flare exploded loudly. The fiery explosion was absorbed by the translucent ceiling and left no trails.

The Dragon Guard members could only see a flashing red light before it completely disappeared. Other than the explosion, everything else remained the same.

“We can’t even send a distress signal! It looks like we’re completely trapped in this spell,” The red-robed elder said with a frown. He couldn't find the spell’s breaking point even with his eye technique in this situation.

That was enough to prove that this spell was more bizarre and advanced than the Disorientation Spell, especially when bothspells were used together. They complemented and enhanced each other’s efficiency.

“Oh no! An ambush from the enemy!” Just as the red-robed elder was thinking of ways to break the spell, he heard a shrillscream.

Black shadows started appearing in all directions. These shadows took the form of a human, but they weren’t real. It was as ifthey were made from the thick fog. They moved in a strange manner, and their movements were elusive.

As soon as these shadows got closer to them, their hands transformed into sharp blades, and they started attacking the DragonGuard members.

“Kill them!” Before they could coordinate their attack, the Dragon Guard members rushed forward with their knives.

Even though their movements were limited, they could only die trying for now. To their relief, these shadows were not veryskilled, as they fought like low- level martial artists. Only a few of them were at the entry-level of becoming a divine martial artist.

The Dragon Guard members consisted mainly of divine masters. They had been through rigorous training, and they workedtogether seamlessly. They were able to defeat the shadows very quickly.

After destroying all the shadows, they lost only two of their team members, and a handful of them were severely injured.“Hahaha... | thought they would be better than this! Who knew they were all trash!”

“That’s right! There were many shadows, but they were very weak and couldn't even take a hit!”

“Looks like this bizarre spell isn’t as scary as we thought it’d be.”

Having destroyed all the shadows, the Dragon Guard members were joyous and celebratory. It was as if they had won a bigbattle.

However, their laughter soon died down. Before they could take a breather, more shadows attacked them again from everydirection.

“Fuck! There’s more? Kill them!”novelbin

The Dragon Guard members had no time to think as they rushed forward with their blades to continue the battle. After fiveminutes, the Dragon Guard members successfully eliminated all the shadows, although they did incur more casualties. After the second wave, the subsequent waves followed one another closely. A huge amount of shadows started appearingendlessly from all directions.

Regardless of how many of the Dragon Guard members were killed, the shadows continued to appear without stopping.Every wave of the shadow attack would bring more casualties to the group of Dragon Guard members.

As the old adage went, little strokes fell great oaks. The shadows might have been weak, but even the best fighters couldn'tendure the persistent attacks.

As the battle dragged on, the Dragon Guard members became more and more nervous as despair started sinking in.

If this continued, they’d probably die of exhaustion!
