Chapter 1561

Amidst the chaos, Dustin kneeled beside Lana's motionless form, lost in thoughts. Suddenly, approaching footsteps brought himback to the present.

Dustin gazed up to find Matteo, accompanied by others, rushing toward them urgently. The gunshots had alerted the Camronfamily.

Realizing Lana's prolonged absence, Matteo swiftly sensed trouble and efficiently rallied a group for support. However, upon arriving and witnessing the grim scene, he stood frozen in disbelief as if struck by lightning.

Stumbling forward, he reached Lana's motionless form. After confirming the grim reality, he released a gut-wrenching, mournfulcry. "Lana! My daughter, Lana!"

Matteo collapsed beside her, and his cries filled with sorrow.

Since his wife's passing, he and Lana had been each other's pillars of strength. He had envisioned witnessing Lana's wedding, rejoicing in her motherhood journey, and holding his grandchildren.novelbin

But today, unexpectedly, marked a farewell to the living and the departed. In that instant, a sharp blade seemed to pierce hisheart.

"I'm sorry; it's all my fault," Dustin confessed with his head down, guilt etched across his face. Were it not for him, Scott wouldn't have targeted Lana. If Lana hadn't tried to save him, she wouldn't have met such a tragic end.

Dustin was always cautious about making friends. He was now faced with the harsh reality that fate had snatched that friendaway right before his eyes after finally finding a kindred spirit.

In the aftermath of that crushing blow, Dustin found himself consumed by a blend of grief and selfreproach.

"Why! Why did this have to happen? Dustin! It's because of you that Lana is dead!" Matteo seethed with resentment, delivering aforceful punch to Dustin's face.

Choosing not to block the punch with his true energy, Dustin was propelled backward by the force. He landed heavily on theground, and blood trickled from the corner of his mouth.

"I'm responsible for Lana's death. You can hit me and yell at me—I deserved it," Dustin confessed with a bowed head andahoarse voice.

"Get out! | don't want to see you again!" Matteo roared with red eyes and frustration."I'm sorry." Dustin cast a deep gaze at Lana's lifeless body before rising and departing.

All he could do now was seek retribution for Lana, making the wrongdoer pay, whether it was Scott or the Moseys. Even if itmeant risking himself, he was determined to bring justice for Lana.

Back in his car, Dustin dialed a number back in his car. He stated bluntly, "Adam, | need to know Scott's whereabouts, and thesooner, the better."

"Okay, give me ten minutes." Adam didn't say more and promptly ended the call.

Ten minutes later, Dustin answered the ringing phone.

Adam delivered the information. "Scott is hiding out at Jadeleaf Manor. It's Anders's territory. Be careful."

"Got it," Dustin responded and hung up, slamming his foot on the gas pedal and heading straight for Jadeleaf Manor. Regardlessof who protected Scott, today, he would face the consequences.

Meanwhile, inside Jadeleaf Manor, Anders, known as the Veros Warrior, was joyously celebrating with his friends and associates.

Almost all of them were high-ranking members of the Moseys, wielding power and influence across various industries. Thoughindividually inconspicuous, their combined force was nothing short of terrifying.
