Chapter 1191

An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori Chapter 1191

“Sir Williamson, I’m acting in the interest of our reputation.” Quincey frowned. He continued, “This guy has killed an innocent manand is acting aggressively. He has no respect for the alliance. If we don’t deal with him now, we'll likely face more in the future!”

“Mr. Reeds, | saw what happened earlier. You were the one acting aggressive and arrogant.”

Emery continued calmly, “Besides, you have violated our code of conduct. You had commanded the Three Guardians without thepermission of our leader.

“If you insist on continuing this argument, you'll add another offense to your record-knowingly breaking the law.”

“You-!” Quincey was exasperated. Through gritted teeth, he whispered, ” Sir Williamson, we're on the same side. Sir Williamson,we're on the same side. Are you really going to oppose me for this brat?”

“Mr. Reeds, I’ve always handled matters objectively. | will never act in favor of personal gain.”

Emery declared confidently, “Everyone can tell right from wrong. | believe everyone here wishes to witness a fair and honorableduel against our leader. “Those who interfere in this duel with underhanded means will be the enemy of the martial world!”

“That’s right! It’s our right to challenge the alliance leader to a duel! Nobody has the right to interfere!” the crowd of martial artistsechoed.

In the martial world, the strongest held the greatest authority. Even the position of alliance leader was earned through pure skills.

Anyone who became a grandmaster had the right to challenge the leader to a duel. That was an unspoken rule. Avoiding theduel or using underhanded methods would only bring down the alliance’s name.

“Sir Williamson, must you do this?” Quincey’s expression was grim.

“Why? Are you displeased?” Emery raised an eyebrow. “If you are, you have the right to challenge me. As long as you defeatme, | will pass the position of assistant leader to you.”

“You...” Quincey was rendered speechless. He was a mere divine-level martial artist. It was only because his brother was theleader of the alliance that he could enjoy the privilege of being an elder. Challenging Emery would be a suicidal move.

“Sir Williamson, | won't forget today. | hope you won’t regret it.”

Quincey continued grimly, “You might have shielded him now. But you won't be able to shield him forever. He will be dying atragic death later on stage.”novelbin

“I'm not interested in his fate on stage. But nobody can break the rules beneath it. Now, get your men to leave!” Emery remainedcomposed.

Quincey took a deep breath. Taking the situation into account, he finally gave in. “Three Guardians, retreat!”Hearing the order, the three black-clad figures disappeared like a ghost. It was as if they never appeared.

“Grandmaster Rhys, on behalf of the alliance, | apologize for Mr. Reeds’ actions.” Emery turned to Dustin and apologizedrespectfully.

The reason he helped Dustin was to establish his authority. But it was also for personal reasons. Ronald had suppressed him fora decade, giving him no chance to rise.

Dustin’s appearance had given him a chance to step out from Ronald’s shadow. No matter the outcome, as long as Dustin stoodin the battle ring, it would be a challenge to Ronald’s authority.

Making the first step was the hardest. However, once that step was taken, the subsequent steps would prove less daunting. When that day came, Ronald’s position would be shaken. It would give Emery the opportunity to seize power.

“You are too kind, Sir Williamson. They were just a few insignificant people. | didn’t take them seriously.”

“Of course.” Emery gave Dustin a faint smile.

“Grandmaster Rhys, it’s almost time. After you.”

“Alright.” Dustin nodded. Under the watchful eyes of the crowd, he made his way up to the center of the battle ring.

The crowd automatically made way for him. At that moment, regardless of his reason and the outcome, Dustin's courage anddetermination had earned the admiration of the people present.

Dustin had attempted something none of them dared to do.
