“I see. If you are so righteous, then what were you and your honorable lady trying to do just now?”

“Ms. Solace just wanted to submit her application herself. She would never use dirty methods like you!”

“Is that so? It’s clearly stated in the participant booklet that nominees would be invited for an interviewonly when they pass the preliminary stages. Everyone has to follow the procedure without fail. Theycan’t get in contact with the judges before the interview. I believe that Ms. Solace also received thisbooklet, didn’t she? Madeline’s face darkened as she probed Liam without holding back.

Liam just wanted to stand up for his missus, but he did not expect to bump into a difficult obstacle likeMadeline. If they really shoulder the blame for trying to use backhanded tactics and in the processruining Ms, Solace’s reputation, that would be the end of the world for him.

If that happened, he would not be of any use to Ms. Solace anymore!

“Liam, Professor Seeker is still here. You have to watch your manners.” Annalise

standing outside was listening to the whole fiasco, and seeing that things had escalated, she took thisopportunity to intervene.

She naively thought that after Liam had berated them, these people would know their place andwelcome her.

How could they blatantly imply that they were actually using backhanded tactics now?

This was not something they could be proud of.

“Ms. Solace, they’re all bullies!” Liam saw that Annalise had joined in, and he

immediately felt like he had found his savior. He began to complain to her as if he was wronged.

“We are just here to submit our application, and we don’t know about the guidelines as stated in thebooklet. This is our mistake. However, isn’t this lady here committing the same mistake and goingagainst the guidelines too?”

Annalise was maintaining her calm and graceful facade. She wanted to get rid of any chances of beinglabeled as someone who used backhanded tactics.

She could not fathom how Madeline could be so relaxed, sitting nearby Professor Seeker as if she wasat home. Her mood slowly became sour, which prompted her to voice out her suspicion.

This woman in front of her was really pretty. Even though she was dressed in a plain T- shirt and jeans,that did not prevent her from flaunting her figure.

The moment Annalise laid eyes on that woman, she immediately felt that she was no ordinary woman.She was even a little envious of her extraordinary beauty.

Madeline’s beauty and demeanor must be why Annalise felt compelled to be suspicious of her. It wasbecause of jealousy. Madeline looked like someone who could use some backhanded tactics too.

If that were the case, Annalise secretly planned to kill two birds with one stone.

However, the moment she stopped talking, Liam, her incompetent assistant, chipped in agitatedly,“She’s right. Professor Seeker, since you can accept applicants using backhanded tactics, why don’tyou consider Ms. Solace? You must have known that Ms. Solace is from the Solace family. When Liam saw Annalice bringing up Madeline, he instinctively thought that Annalise was feeling unfairabout the fact that only Madeline could bypass standard procedure.

Without giving it much thought, he blurted out his opinion.

When Madeline heard him, she could not stifle her laughter anymore.

“Hey Professor Seeker, do people nowadays use backhanded tactics all the time without shame?”Madeline shook her head in disbelief. She felt sorry for the sole daughter of the Solace family.

Look, the once honorable and mighty Ms. Solace had a pale face because she couldn’t believe whather assistant had just said!

“I can’t believe this, you’d think the whole world is going to the dogs! Chairman, you must be strictabout these indecent practices. We can’t allow scheming people to smear the name of the CharityAssociation!”

Professor Seeker’s gaze swept across them and he didn’t shy away from criticizing them.

He had been an educator for many years. The thing he hated most was bad culture and practices.

He would not have expected that such bad practices would happen in front of his very eyes not longafter he assumed the judge position in the association. Gone were the days when moral values werehighly touted.

“Yes, I agree with what you said, professor.” Madeline nodded solemnly.

“Chairman? What do you mean?” Liam finally realized that he was running his mouth, and he also justheard some important information. This prompted him to voice out his question

This is Ms. Madeline, and she is the chairman of the Global Philanthropy Committee.” Albertgenerously and respectfully introduced Madeline to those who were not in the

know.

Upon hearing that, Annalise felt like she was hit by a truck.

She almost stumbled to the floor, and she was only able to stand because Madeline was quick to holdher.

It was just that when Annalice looked up again, there was no longer any calm or decent expression onher face.

What was in her eyes now was strong, evil energy as if she was going to swallow Madeline whole.

“You’re the chairman? So you were just putting up an act with Professor Seeker just now, and you weretrying to make everyone misunderstand us?
