Chapter 2881 Lure The Demon Beasts Out
He detected countless bodies that were buried beneath thick layers of ice and snow. Those wereprobably the people that Vasily said had died in Fatal Canyon.
After scanning the canyon with his spiritual sense, Jared thought of something and had everyoneback away from the entrance of the canyon.
“What's wrong, Jared? Are you giving up on the ice soul fragment?” Viola asked in confusion.
“Of course not! I just need to lure a portion of the demon beasts out of the canyon first. We'll stand amuch higher chance at obtaining the ice soul fragment with lesser demon beasts guarding it,” Jaredreplied while conjuring up hand seals.
An arcane array slowly appeared in the air before landing on the snowy ground.

“Are you planning on trapping those demon beasts with this arcane array, Mr. Chance?” Vasilyasked.
Although the arcane array was huge, it would still be impossible to trap thousands of demon beastsin it.
“No, this arcane array is not for trapping the demon beasts. It's to lure them here,” Jared explainedwhile pointing at the arcane array.
A golden beam of light then shone on the arcane array, causing it to glow brightly and release awave of concentrated spiritual energy toward the canyon.
Jared then unleashed yet another magecraft technique by placing charms on Vasily and the others.
“A huge group of demon beasts will be lured out of the canyon soon. All you guys have to do isstand within the arcane array and kill them all. Remember, do not step out of this arcane array! Thearcane array will move with you guys now that you all have these charms, so make sure to utilize ahit-and-run strategy when fighting those demon beasts. Once you guys have drawn those demonbeasts far away from the canyon, I will go in and retrieve the ice soul fragment. The Three Banditswill come with me. I will need to make use of their teleportation ability to obtain the ice soul fragmentas quickly as possible,” Jared said, planning everything out carefully.
He knew that combat would be inevitable once he entered the canyon and that the ice bear wouldsurely target him immediately.
All Jared had to do was attract the demon beasts before using the Three Bandits' teleportationability to quickly steal the ice soul fragment and make his escape.
In other words, Viola and Vasily would be keeping a portion of the demon beasts busy outside thecanyon while Jared distracted the rest inside. Since stealing was what the Three Bandits did best,they would be the ones to steal the ice soul fragment.
“Don't worry, Mr. Chance! We're the best when it comes to stealing stuff!” the Three Bandits repliedin unison.
Jared nodded with a smile. He decided to give it a shot because the Three Bandits were able to pulloff amazing stunts with their teleportation ability.
“Viola, Vasily, you two need to be careful too. All you two have to do is lure the demon beasts as faraway from the canyon as possible. They shouldn't be able to hurt you two with the arcane arrayprotecting you. Besides, the arcane array will only attract the weaker demon beasts, so you twohave nothing to worry about,” Jared reassured them.
Viola and Vasily nodded in response. “Be careful, Jared. Forget about the ice soul fragment if youcan't get it. It's more important to stay alive. You know I can't live without you...” Viola said whilestaring worriedly at Jared.
She couldn't bear to be separated from Jared, especially at night.
“Don't worry. I'll be fine!” Jared replied with a faint smile.
As soon as he said that, thunderous roars rang out in the distance. The ground began to shake ascountless demon beasts came stampeding out of the canyon.
The demon beasts came charging toward the arcane array, which they perceived as a magical itemthey could use as a resource for their cultivation.
