Jared glanced at Percy, hinting at the latter to keep quiet as it would be best for them not to drawattention at that moment.

“That's easy. I brought all these people to lure out the bloodthirsty beast.” Francois turned to thevillagers and randomly pointed at two of them. “You two, go scout ahead.”
The two villagers who were selected were scared out of their wits. They dropped to their knees,their foreheads covered in sweat. “W-We dare not. Please spare us.”
“You're worthless to me if you don't go, and I don't keep things that have no value by my side.” Afterfinishing his sentence, Francois swung his palm.
The next second, the two villagers died on the spot, bleeding from their orifices.
Everyone was stunned by that scene. They had thought they had struck gold, but it turned out theywere mere cannon fodder.
“You two, go.” Francois pointed at another two villagers.
The two people who were chosen trembled all over in fear. Ultimately, they could only beg Brutus formercy. “Dr. Weiss, please save us. We've known each other for a long time. Please help us.”
