My men all stiffened at that comment, but it didn’t stop Hannah. She was on a roll. | saw her temper start to flare out of controland she spoke faster.

The pain of that last statement stopped me. All her anger, all her frustration was not directed at my men; it was directed atherself. Hannah had internalized all the fears | had, but she could escape them. | could never get away and she thought she waspowerless to help me.
She lashed out with her vicious weapons cutting at my men. She was a flurry of screaming fury for a moment or two and thenshe was gone Hannah had disappeared from the apartment as fast as she had appeared.
