Christof brought the food and set it down beside me, so | could nibble while Hannah nursed. Before he drew his hand away,Hannah kicked his wrist.
“You touched me,” she hissed angrily.

“They will never hurt me,” | promised her. “They love me Like | love you. Please stop hating them. If they had not brought mehere, there would be no you. | think you will make this world better. My difficulties were well worth having you, My Girl.”
My men sat and watched us in silence. The look on their faces was one of sheer terror. They had no doubt what Nu-reeh’sreaction to that brief contact would be.
